How much will it actually cost me to go on this cruise/conference ?

Your final total depends on four things: (1) the cabin style you choose, (2) when you register, (3) whether you protect yourself with travel insurance, and (4) how many new participants you refer to us.

Pay $1197/person (double occupancy) for the basic combination of Inside Cabin and Standard Conference Tuition. Add $300 for inside “Solo Suite” cabin (single occupancy) OR add $300/person for a Balcony Cabin (double occupancy). See Pricing for full menu of choices to suit your particular desires.

Regardless of cabin choice, add tax of $114/person for the week, and gratuity of $12/day per person.

Register early with a coupon code and you could save between $25 – $100/person.

If you become a CoCreator and refer a few new passengers who attend, you will get a rebate of $75/person ($150/cabin in most cases!) after the cruise. Click here for CoCreator Details.

What is included in the basic Conference & Cruise package?

1) Accommodations on the ship for all 7-nights on the spectacular Norwegian Epic!

2) Exclusive Group Events: Bon Voyage Party, Dance Party, Keynote Presentations, etc.

3) Travel to three different tropical islands!  Port charges are included.

4) Wake-up Classes: Meditation, Yoga, Qigong, Tibetan 5-Rites, OxyCise, Breathwalk, etc.

5) Holistic health workshops, presentations and classes presented by leading-edge speakers.

6) Viewing & discussion of Dr. Norm Shealy’s new film: “Medical Renaissance; The Secret Code”

7) Great entertainment organized by Epic staff, including nightly shows: Blue Man Group; Legends In Concert; 2nd City Comedy Troupe; Cirque Dreams Dinner Show; Murder Mystery Luncheon, etc!

8) Live dance bands, jazz bars, karaoke contests, water park, casino, games and activities for kids and adults.

9) Unlimited delicious food! Feast as often as you want at a variety of restaurants on the ship. Choose gluten free, vegetarian or Kosher options and make it a really healthy cruise!

10) Certain non-alcoholic beverages (iced tea, lemonade, water, coffee, tea, milk and juice) are complimentary at the buffet and in formal dining rooms.

What necessary costs are NOT included in the basic Cruise & Conference package price?

1) Round trip transportation between home and the ship port. (Air, bus, train, car?)

2) Government taxes – about $114/person.

3) Ship staff gratuities are added to your ship-board account automatically at the rate of $12/person per day. You can adjust it up or down, but we think you’ll agree that this is a low figure once you’ve experienced the typical service of a Norwegian Cruise ship.

4) Travel Insurance – Covers medical emergencies, trip cancellation, baggage loss/delay and more. (This is optional, but we feel it belongs in the necessity column.)

What options are available to me, which would cost extra?

1) On-shore excursions are optional, ranging from $25 – $200 per person.

2) Spa services, casino games, gift shop purchases, and some restaurants and activities cost slightly extra.

3) Inside Track sessions – get up-close and personal with our world-class speakers.

4) CEUs area available for a variety of professions, from a variety of organizations.

5) Cocktails, soda and bottled water are always extra.  Non-alcoholic beverages such as iced tea, lemonade, coffee, milk, and juices are complimentary both in buffet and in the dining room.

6) Art gallery purchases

Are beverages such as bottled water, soda and alcohol included?

No. Alcoholic drinks, soda, bottled water and specialty beverages can be purchased on board. They are billed to your room account for convenience, including a gratuity charged at point-of-service. Look into a non-alcoholic beverage plan to save money if you drink a lot of soda and bottled water.

Non-alcoholic beverages such as iced tea, lemonade, coffee, milk, non-bottled water and juices are complimentary both in buffet and in the dining room. We suggest bringing a reusable water bottle or two and refill it at the buffet.

Do I have to pay the entire cruise price now in order to register for the conference?

The answer to that question depends on today’s date!  If it’s prior to June 25, you only have to pay your Conference Tuition of $468 to reserve your space at the conference.  A Cabin Deposit of $350/person is due on or before June 25, 2013, when you must choose and reserve your cabin type to insure you get the pricing offered on our website. After this date, cruise fare rates may increase, which will increase your overall cost. The remaining balance of your cabin fare, including tax, is due August 15, 2013, and will be charged automatically to the credit card used for the cabin deposit.

Beginning August 15, 2013 it will be necessary to pay for the entire program upon registering.

If desired, you may charge your Conference Tuition to Paypal with 0% interest for 6-months, upon approved credit. Click on banner ad (on sidebar to your right) for details and application.

What is the refund/cancellation policy?

Refund Policy:

After initial deposit, the following cancellation schedule will apply, regardless of the reason for cancellation:

•  If you cancel on or before 8/10/13, forfeit $150 per person administrative fee.
•  If you cancel between 8/11/13 and 10/02/13, forfeit 50% of total paid or cabin deposit (whichever is greater).
•  If you cancel after 10/02/13, or simply don’t show up, you will forfeit 100%. No refunds can be made at that point.

We strongly recommend the purchase of travel insurance to protect your investment in the event you need to change or cancel your plans for a covered reason.  Please inquire for more details, or to purchase travel insurance.  Travel Insurance premiums are not refundable after the initial 10-day “look-see” trial period.

Why should I buy Travel Insurance?

Travel Insurance is so important, we almost made it a requirement. While nobody ever plans on emergencies occurring, and we hope they never do, it’s better to be safe than sorry. Here’s why:

1) It protects you from the high costs of emergency medical care should you need it on the ship or on-shore due to an accident or unexpected illness.

2) Medical transportation is very costly and not covered by most health insurance, especially when you are overseas.

3) You will also be protected from financial losses that could occur due to lost or delayed luggage and missed or delayed airplanes.

4) It will reimburse you for the cost of your trip if an emergency prevents you from going on the cruise. TIP: For simplicity, savings and valuable assistance, cover your entire trip (airfare, cruise fare, conference tuition, hotel, etc.) all under one policy. If you get it through our travel agent, you will have the benefit of her expertise if you need to file a claim (which can be a process), and it will be only one claim to submit.

What if I want to use a different credit card to pay the final balance?

Simply call or email our travel agent prior to August 15, 2013 and provide your preferred credit card details. You will receive her contact info in your NCL Cabin booking confirmation email.

Can I register after the final payment deadline has passed?

If space is available, yes. Due to the ship’s conference space limitations, we can only accommodate a certain number of conference attendees. We expect to be sold out by August 15, 2013. If we are not sold out and there are cabins available on the ship, however, you are more than welcome to join us. You may have to pay more to cover higher cabin fares at that time, however, because our group rates will expire July 5, 2013, 2012.

How much will I earn if I refer someone who comes on the cruise?

You will receive a $75 rebate for each person that you refer to us who goes on the cruise! We call it a rebate because it is payable within 15 days after the cruise.

There are many ways! Get creative. Here are some ideas to get you started…

1. First talk to your friends, family, colleagues and clients/customers about the cruise and encourage them to come. If they don’t click on your link, they’ll be able to choose your name or CoCreator code (make it simple!) from a dropdown menu that will show up upon registering.

2. POST it as an event on Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, MySpace, SelfGrowth.com, online calendar listings and any other social networking media. Include your unique link in the post.

2b. Post updates about how excited you are about the cruise and/or specific programs and speakers that you’re looking forward to experiencing. Include your unique link in the post.

TIP: Use your unique link in status updates or event announcements via your Facebook account or our FanPage!  Your CoCreator ID may be hidden by FB, when posted, but it will still work!

3. LIKE our website and any specific pages you like on it (LIKE buttons are at the bottom of every page!)

4. Post messages on our cruise Facebook Page: Facebook.com/holisticcruiseadventures

5. Circulate our beautiful 4-color flyers at workshops and events you attend (add your referral code ONLY in the space provided. Website visitors will be prompted to enter your code upon registering).

6. Post flyers on local bulletin boards.

7. Send out email blasts specifically about the cruise, but only to people who are on your list and have given you permission to email them. (TIP:  Click on “Ads” and then “Creatives” after logging in to your CoCreator account. You’ll find well-written email messages that you can use as is or edit as you see fit.)

8. Add our Banner Ads to your website, blog or newsletter (Login and click on “Ads” to see what we have ready for you to copy and paste into your website’s html code).

9. Write about it in your newsletter! Talk about why you are so excited about it and encourage others to join you on the cruise.

10. On your automatic EMAIL SIGNATURE add a short message about the cruise with your link embedded in the message. Every email you send will be automatically reminding friends and family of the cruise! See instructions below or search for instructions online.

IMPORTANT NOTE: SPAM will not be tolerated! If we discover that any of our CoCreators are sending emails to people who they do not know or have not given permission to be contacted, we reserve the right to close the CoCreator account permanently. All commissions will be forfeited in this case. These tactics cause more trouble than they are worth. Please be respectful of others’ time and privacy.

How and when will I receive my CoCreator rebate/commissions?

On or before December 24, 2013 we will send your CoCreator Rebate earnings to your Paypal account. Be sure that your correct Paypal Account Email Address appears in your CoCreator account profile. If you do not have a Paypal Account, simply open one after the cruise! It is free and takes two minutes. Just verify your bank account info (a simple process) and you’ll be able to transfer your rebate/commissions into your bank account any time. You can then keep it for future use, or close it at any time after receiving your rebate.

You will get referral credit if someone registers within 10 months after clicking on your link, even if they do not click on your link again just before signing up. The only exception to this rule is this: if they click on someone else’s referral link before actually signing up, your link will be overridden. Rebates will be credited to the last Referral Link that the customer clicked on before registering. This is unavoidable. However, it can go both ways. You can gain as well as lose. One way to help your chances is to send out your link (via email messages, Facebook, Twitter, etc.) often, but only to people you know or who have given you permission to contact them! Adding your link to the “auto-signature” function in your email program will help!

How can I check to see if people have registered using my promotion code?

Click on Login in the menu above. Then log in to your CoCreator Account using the username (also your referral code) and password you created when signup up for the CoCreator program. Once logged in, you will see a Menu in Green just below the word “Login”. Click on “Sales” to see who has registered using your referral link or code. You can also explore the other menu items to get more info about your account activity.

How can I get flyers to distribute?

That’s easy! Just send your request for as many copies as you would like, in an email to support@myholisticcruise.com. Be sure to include your shipping address and phone number!

I have postcards and flyers, but they don’t have my CoCreator Referral Code on them. What should I do?

If you have the 8.5″ X 11″ flyer, simply write your referral code in the space provided at the bottom right of the flyer. Or you could print your referral code onto some small “return address” labels and stick them onto the flyer in the space provided. If you have the ability to distribute 1000 or more flyers, we may print some with your referral code already included. Call to inquire if this is the case.

Whomever referred you originally will receive the credit. It is stated clearly on the CoCreator Program description pages that rebates are not payable to anyone for registering themselves nor their roommate(s). This would be unfair to the person or media outlet who referred you.

Why won’t I receive commission for referring my roommate?

This policy was implemented to make sure that serious and dedicated CoCreators get full credit for their efforts. If someone becomes a CoCreator just to get the discount for their husband, wife or best friend (who would come with them anyway), this reduced the rightful earnings of the serious CoCreator who initially referred them. We apply this policy equally, to everyone, for two reasons: to make it fair and consistent, and to avoid an administrative nightmare on our part. Don’t worry, it works in your favor when you refer people. You will get paid for both people in the cabin, when you refer one of them. (The only time this won’t be the case is when we match up someone you referred with a roommate who was referred by someone else.)

How can I add a promotional blurb to my EMAIL SIGNATURE?

This is a great idea and if you don’t know how to create a signature that automatically appears on all your outgoing emails, check your email program for instructions. You could also search online for these instructions. I recommend searching YouTube!  Below are instructions for creating a signature on Gmail with your URL discreetly embedded in it. These instructions will be helpful for you to review even if you don’t use Gmail.

Log in to your email account and then:

1) Click on the little wheel icon in upper right corner

2) Choose “Mail Settings”from dropdown menu

3) Scroll down General Settings page until you see “Signature”

4) Click on the radio button next to the light blue box

5) Paste your message in to the msg field in the blue box

I recommend something that reads like this…

PS: Have you heard about the Evolving Conscious Health Community Cruise? It’s gonna be a blast. CEUs are available and it’s really affordable. I’m going… Why don’t you come too?  Click Here for all the details.

6) Highlight the words you want to hide your URL behind (Perhaps “Click Here”)

7) Click on the link icon (in the blue area)

8) Enter your entire URL in the box next to “Web Address”. Your URL will read as follows, except that you will enter YOUR unique CoCreator Referral Code in place of XXXXX:

http://myholisticcruise.com/?ap_id=XXXXX

9) Click “okay”

10) Scroll to bottom of  General Settings page and click on “Save Changes”

Done!  TIP: Use the same link for status updates or event announcements via your Facebook account!  The CoCreator ID may be hidden by FB, when posted, but it will still work!

What time does our ship depart and return?

The Norwegian Epic departs Port Miami at 4pm  on November 2, 2013. You must plan to be at the terminal by 1:30PM and checked-in by 2:00PM. The ship returns to Port Miami on November 9th at about 8am. We have until about 10am to disembark. Return flight arrangements should be made for noon or later to allow for possible delays.

Can we use our own travel agent to book the cruise?

No. If you want to participate in our holistic events, group dining, classes, presentations, workshops and activities, you must book your cruise accommodations with our travel agent via the process outlined on this website. As you can imagine, there are a great many details and expenses involved in organizing a conference like this. Venue space and amenities are provided to us based on the number of passengers booked in our group. No other agent can book you into our group.

You may use your own travel agent to arrange airfare, transfers and hotel, if desired, but it may be advantageous to use our travel agent for these things as well, because she’ll be traveling with us for organizational support, but she cannot take responsibility for travel she did not book. She can also wrap all of your arrangements into one travel insurance policy for savings and, more importantly, simplicity should you need to file a claim.

Is airfare to the ship port something I have to arrange separately?

Yes. If driving or taking a bus is not feasible from where you live, fly in to either the Miami or Fort Lauderdale airport. We recommend booking your flight 30-60 days prior to sailing.

Our travel agent will be happy to search and book your flight for you, for a $40 service fee, since airlines no longer pay commissions to travel agencies. Or you can search online for your best fare and time schedule. Arrive by noon on November 2 and fly out after noon on November 9th.

Don’t forget to try SouthwestAir.com, which will not show up in Expedia.com, Travelocity.com, Kayak.com nor any of the other airfare comparison websites. Southwest is usually very reasonable and they don’t charge extra for the first two checked bags (like most airlines do now – about $25 – 50 per bag).

Norwegian offers a package deal, but it’s about $700 more for the airfare. You can do much better on your own or with our travel agent.

What airport should I fly into to get to Port Miami?

The Miami International Airport (MIA) is the major airport closest to Port Miami; Fort Lauderdale (FLL) is about a 1-hour drive from the Port Miami cruise terminal. If flying in, you’ll also need ground transfers between the airport and cruise terminal. Our travel agent will be arranging R/T transfers for those of our group members who want it as an option.

What time should I plan my flight to arrive in Miami or Ft. Lauderdale on November 2, 2013?

Your plane should arrive in Miami by about noon on November 2, 2013. If flying in to Fort Lauderdale, aim for 11:00 AM, as it will likely take you another 90-minutes to gather your bags and get to the Ship’s Dock at Miami. There will be a check-in process that can take some time. You should be boarding the ship by 2:00pm. The ship leaves the dock at 4:00pm.

What time must I be at the cruise terminal?

Boarding begins at 11am, and as soon as you are on board, the fun begins!  You should arrive at Port Miami at least two hours before sailing. Do your best to arrive at the cruise terminal by 1:00 pm.

We have arranged group hotel rooms for those who want to play it safe by staying overnight in Miami or Ft. Lauderdale on the 19th or earlier (Ft. Lauderdale is a wonderful place to play!). This will reduce stress by allowing time for possible unforeseen circumstances, such as weather delays.

Are hotel rooms available at group rates in Miami or Ft Lauderdale if we want to arrive a day or two early?

Yes. And we highly recommend flying in early for two reasons:

(1)  It will give you a buffer to allow for inclement weather and other potential flight delays

(2)  It will be more relaxing and you’ll really be able to unwind before the cruise begins.

We have arranged access to a number of rooms in Miami and Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. Take advantage of low group rates available at various hotels. Please see detailed pricing options on Reservation Detail Form after registering. Or contact Adele at 860-322-5370 for details.

How will I get from the airport or hotel to the cruise terminal where the ship is docked?

You can search online for various options, or simply opt-in to transfers being arranged by our travel agent from the Miami or Ft. Lauderdale airport. There will likely be taxis and shuttle services that you can simply grab at the airport, however you will pay a premium for last minute services.

If staying at a hotel the night before, check with the clerk to see if shuttles are available. You can also opt-in to special hotel group rates arranged by our travel agent for about $150/room per night, plus tax. Details will be available on Reservation Detail Form after you sign up.

How can I find out about excursions at the Islands we’ll be visiting?

We’ll be organizing some optional excursions for our group, but you can always go on your own or with a small group. You can book excursions through Norwegian in advance or on the ship. We recommend booking online at Shore Excursions for more reasonably priced, just-as-reliable island excursions. Reserve in advance for best choice, as they can sell out.

Or you can totally play it by ear and book with a local vendor at the dock. But beware… you don’t always get what you bargain for, as they know you have no recourse once they have your money.

How much time will we spend at each Island port location?

See the Itinerary for timing details. Even this could vary somewhat, based on weather patterns.

I want to come on my own. What are my cabin/roommate options?

Most cruise lines charge double for single travelers. However, The Norwegian Epic has specially priced “solo suites” for single travelers. They are smaller than a regular cabin, but very nicely designed, and you have access to a private lounge for solo suite occupants only!  The surcharge is just $300 (total package price is $1497).

If you would prefer to share an Inside or Balcony cabin with someone, but don’t know who, we can help you find a roommate. Simply click here to arrive at a survey which will help us match you up with someone who will likely be compatible.  When we have a candidate for you, we will email you each others’ name and phone number, and ask you to contact them ASAP to see if you feel comfortable with them. Let us know as soon as possible after you talk with them. Naturally, there is a possibility we may not be able to satisfy your request, but we will do our best! Complete the survey ASAP for the best chance of success!

Can children come? If so, are there any activities planned for them?

Yes, bring  your children (and grandchildren) if desired. The holistic conference will not include child-oriented events, however there are many activities organized for children by the ship staff on board, and there is a whole water park as well as indoor play areas for all ages. No conference tuition is required for passengers under 18, who do not wish to participate in the conference. Please see the bottom of our Pricing page for details about reduced cruise pricing for children when they are the 3rd and/or 4th persons in a cabin.

Ship FAQs

Please click on any question and the answer will appear. Click on it again to make the answer disappear.

Are the meals included?

Yes, prepare to get spoiled! Wonderful meals are included and plentiful while on board the ship at a variety of complementary restaurants. There are also some optional specialty restaurants which cost a bit extra, and they are well worth the extra cover charge if you appreciate gourmet food. Want a second helping? Just ask! When not on the ship, meals are your responsibility unless you are on an excursion that specifically states that a meal will be provided.

What other fees will be necessary on board the ship?

Beverages and gratuities for the ship staff are extra. Norwegian Cruise Lines recommends a minimum of $12.00 per day in gratuities, which is automatically added to your shipboard account at the end of the week. This amount can be adjusted up or down, but we think you’ll agree that this is a low figure once you have experienced the typical service of a Norwegian Cruise ship. Beverages purchased on board are charged to your room, including a gratuity charged at point of service. Look into a non-alcoholic beverage plan to save money if you drink a lot of soda or bottled water. Alcoholic beverages are always extra. Bottles of alcohol may not be brought onto the ship.
